Last Saturday we stained our deck, Behr Redwood.  We’d received a nice gift from a friend, which helped to cover the initial cost of staining our deck.  It wasn’t in bad shape, but boy does it ever look great with a fresh coat of stain.  It was a home improvement project we could all work on together!

The week our first wedding guest arrived, our dryer died! Surprisingly this didn’t completely stress me out, perhaps it was having my maid of honor who helped ground me that week (and function as my brain remembering all the to-dos). Here are a few pictures I took as we went back to the basics drying our clothes out on the deck!

If you look closely, you can see our fancy deck that we just adore spending time on!  We do have a new dryer in the works, just waiting to have a few minutes to pick it up and/or find someone with a vehicle large enough to transport!  In the mean time, I’ll continue air drying out clothes, towels and sheets!

One of the coolest wedding gifts we received was a pasta maker! Our first night back in the house after the wedding festivities I helped SR make some homemade pasta for his signature dish, chicken alfredo! This month his goal is to make the entire dish from scratch, with the exception of growing the broccoli and raising chickens!  I’ll make sure I get in a good run before eating all those delicious calories!

Here is the picture of the pasta dryer, we haven’t got one of those fancy pasta dryers just yet, so the granite counter top will have to do!
