Lost
Most of the time I like to think of myself as someone who is very good with direction. If I'm headed somewhere new I typically can find it, no problem. Friday night was a little different, as was Saturday.
After work on Friday, I met up with my friend Amy for dinner at a great Mexican restaurant in Virgina Highlands. After dinner, we met up with some of her friends at a place called Hand in Hand. Now, I need to point out that she lives about 10 minutes from Georgia Tech and I had absolutely no problem finding it.
On my way home, I must have made one wrong turn that turned in to a series of wrong turns and me being completely lost and freaked OUT! This was NOT the result of alcohol, in case any of you were wondering! I drove and drove and finally found a street name that I recognized, however, there were multiple streets name the same thing I soon found out. Outside of the car I see I'm not in the best area to stop and ask for directions AND hear a pretty bad storm rolling in. Did I mention I don't like driving in bad weather? I continue to drive around looking for ANY highway and end up in a neighborhood for quite some time. The rain starts to pour. I break down and call a friend. I'm able to find my way after that and head home in the right direction, finally!
Saturday, I vow NOT to get lost again. I'm driven to the right highway, or so I thought, however I'm wrong. This time, I pull off on an actual exit and look at my map. Again, I turn around and head back in the right direction. Would this be considered strike two?
As I said, I'm typically good with directions. I am finding my way around Atlanta one way or another. Apparently Atlanta isn't as block-like as Tampa was. Streets are windy and what is a logical direction to be going isn't always logical. I think I need to stick to riding the train and let someone else do the driving!
