Offer Free Wi-Fi, I will come
In a nutshell, my weekend was productive. Friday is my favorite day of the week. It’s a day when I can dress informally at work, it’s typically a rest day from training, and when I get home after work I don’t have to pack a gym bag or lunch – I don’t have to do anything and love it!
Saturday, I ran 8 miles in the bloody heat with a married, gospel rapper guy named, Mark J. We ended up being the same pace and helped each other through the run. I’ve been running with this new group and yesterday was the first time I ran on flat road! It completely wore me out, more the weather then the running. As I drug myself home and to the shower, I had a whole list of things to get done.
First on the list was my weekly trip to the supermarket. In pursuit of wanting to explore a little more of Alpharetta I decided to try a different location – a little bit further of a drive, but site sighting at its best. I have this grocery shopping down to a science and can usually be in and out in 20 -30 minutes max, however, this trip I was dragging myself around the store for almost 45 minutes.
Next, laundry, ironing, and my schedule for the week. The CRC is closed this week so I searched for a place to train, a community pool or something. Not finding much I decided to use the morning time for training that doesn’t require a gym!
By this time, the caffeine has kicked in and I’m in high gear (currently the caffeine is kicked in when writing this). We got a post card advertising a little café not too far from the house, that has free wireless. I decided to explore a little bit more and to use the free wi-fi to work on a few projects. It was a quaint place, and they were hiring – I decided to toss in an application. There was a HUGE thunderstorm rolling in, so I packed it up and headed home, just in time I might add. Chatted on the phone for a bit and headed to bed around 9 – yep a Saturday night at it’s finest!
Sunday, I woke up around 11:30 – yes that’s right 11:30. I did sleep 14.5 hours in one night. That is more sleep then I get in three nights during the week, but let me tell you I felt good! All my ‘chores’ were done so really I didn’t have to do a thing today! How exciting is that – nothing just relax! Had breakfast, read the Sunday paper and decided I wanted to go shopping. Shopping on a fixed budget is more like window-shopping, but fun nonetheless. I did pick up a few inexpensive things for a few birthdays coming up and some crafy things at Michael’s. Hitting Michael’s eliminated the next two stops so I headed to the Dollar Tree – love that place, especially right before schools starts with all the supplies!
Currently, I’m at Panera Bread – my favorite free WI-FI location. Spent a good 4.5 hours working on a variety of things, and got a lot accomplished. If only my office was located in a Panera Bread! Overall, the weekend was good. I’m rested, prepared for the week and caffeinated!

14.5 hours!
Wow. And i thought sleeping 10 hours feels good. I gotta try that sometimes.
It's hard to find the time, but definitely worth being recharged!
You lost me at 14.5 hours. I am going to assume that you do not have children.
Thanks for stopping by. What are you training for?
You're right, I don't have any kids! I'm not sure I'd be sleeping much if I did! Thank YOU for stopping by!
Don't tell me you drink diet pop? That stuff is BAD for you. Thanks for the Mark J link and the christianrunners.org site. So cool you got to run with Mark J.
Sunday it was straight up coffee! Glad you liked the Mark J and CR link - I didn't know I was in such famous company! Should have gotten his autograph!
