All Adventures Lead to JOY!

Meeting up with Joy yesterday was quite the adventure. What was supposed to be a 45 minute drive turned out to be 2 hours, thanks to my stellar navigations skills. She is training to be a world racer and has spent the last two weeks in Gainesville (that's Georgia by the way).

We spoke yesterday morning and I asked her what she most wanted to do, her response, "You live like 45 minutes away, right?" "Yep!" "I'd really like to take a shower." Apparently she's had a hose with cold water for the last two weeks, taking a shower every third day! Shower it is!

On my way to pick her up, I got a little confused with all the roads and changing names, oh three or four times! I actually was well on my way to Athens when I decided "this just doesn't seem right!" Joy was on a friend's cell phone and in front of Google map as I read off the various street name! Two hours later I FINALLY found her!

We headed back to Alpharetta for her to shower and then headed to the mall! We did a lap and met up with another friend of mine in town. The three of us headed to Barnes and Noble/Starbucks for a while before driving back to Gainesville (fingers crossed). We made it there and back to my suprise without getting lost - woo hoo!
It was awesome to spent the day with Joy and see the excitement she had about embarking on a twelve month race around the world, visiting 11 different countries. She'll be ministring to people in the different countries and will come back with a lifetime of memories.

Joy has to raise all the money for the trip, something crazy like $12,000. Here is the link to where you can support her:

May the Lord bless Joy in all her endeavors regarding her ministry around the world.
Thanks for visiting my blog and asking how have I been. I've been busy (like everyone else) with family and friends/church and training and racing multisport events. My other blog http://ldregely.blogspot.com/ is where I post my other life.
The Lord be with you sister.

Colleen, you are my hero! Without you I would still be smelling rather badly. I had such a great time escaping camp and experiencing reality! LIFESAVER = COLLEEN.
