Do NOT Disturb
This week has been a flop for training. I am to the point (most of you would understand) where you're just ready to get the race over and done with, so you can start training for the next event. I have about 23 days to go, and really one or two long runs left. I'm ready to run Chicago! I had a fabulous run this past weekend while in Tampa but my knees have been bugging me all week. I've iced a few times, but for fear of injury I've just laid off the running.
Having said all that, I arrived to work early, but decided to stay in my car (as opposed to coming inside and starting to work) to continue catching up on some podcasts from the past two weeks. I must have fallen to sleep listening, when I woke up this guy was tapping on my passenger side window! As I fumble to lock the doors (yes, I know they should have been locked already) he walked around to the driver side door. He was mouthing something to me, but I just kept pointing to my ipod that I was listening to and that I couldn't hear him. What I think he was saying was He was from Miami (I have a Florida plate still). Not sure what that had to do with me while sleeping but he stood trying to get me to open the door or roll down the window. Eventually (all in the matter of a few minutes) he went back around to the other side of the car. At this point, I phoned a friend, the guy outside my car started to walk away as I bolted for inside the building. Next time I'm going to put a Do Not Disturb sign on my car window.
