"I run therefore I am"

After two lazy days, I finally got my tail back in to the gym for a hard run. Dreading having to hit the gym after a long day at work, I had a few hours to kill before my weekly, night meeting. Lately, I've been running much slower than I am use to, but tonight I hoped to bumped it up quite a few notchs. On my way in to the gym, a fellow Tampanian stopped me and we chatted for a few minutes, which made the gym not as dreadful. Hopping on to the tredmill I really had no intentions of running fast, although the challenge had been posed. Typing in my information I hit the speed button. Keeping it at a 9 minute mile I was surprised how easy it felt running, more so then my pace lately. Partly, I was distracted by the zillions of people in the gym at the 5 o'clock hour and the raquetball games going on in front of me, but really I felt awesome. I turning up my itunes (loudly) and I decided I was going to really push myself. I kept my 9 minute mile for a good 30 minutes and didn't feel the need to slow down a bit. During peak hours you're only allowed to be on the equipment for that length of time, but I snuck in another 17 minutes to finish out my 5 mile run. Sweaty, and gross I took myself to the locker room to get ready for my meeting. I was SO glad I was pushed tonight, it was just what I needed for my training!

sounds like a good run.

That's one thing i don't enjoy the treadmill at the gym. U can only get in 30 min max.

I enjoy running out door a lot more.

I haven't run for almost 2 weeks. I only ran once on Tues for 30 min. Need more of that....i feel so tired without exercising.

I can see why they have the rule, but I looked and no one was waiting so I snuck in the extra minutes! I feel tired without the running too, love how it can just wake me up! Didn't you just complete a ironman? I think you have an excuse to not run for a while! You had a fabulous season!
