Carnival Against Sexual Violence

Welcome to the 9th Edition of the Carnival Against Sexual Violence hosted here at Talk About It. For other editions you can visit abyss2hope.

Thank you to everyone who nominated a post or who wrote a post against sexual violence whether it was nominated/selected or not. If you support the purpose of the carnival, you can help get the word out about it and all of the posts included in the carnival.

In Savage lauds Wash. Times employee allegedly soliciting girl for sex as a "normal pervert" who "should get a reward that it wasn't a boy" posted at Media Matters we hear a disturbing story about rewarding violence.

In Domestic Violence is Equal Opportunity posted at Holly's Fight to Stop Violence we hear more about domestic violence, statistics and one woman's fight to stop it.

In On going AWOL because of rape and sexual harassment posted at The Happy Feminist we hear about a military case invovling sexual harassment.

In Wrongful Convictions: The Jeffery Deskovic Case posted at Rachel's Tavern we learn more about the story invovled a man who walked free after 16 years for rape and murder of a classmate.

In GOVERNOR BUSH LIAISON EMAILS ME BACK! SHOCKED YES! WILL HE DO ANYTHING! posted at Holly's Fight to Stop Violence an email back to Holly from Governor Bush over a sex offender emailing her.

In Fox News Portrays Foley as A Democrat posted at Tennessee Guerilla Women a short blurb about a politic flub up.

In Miami Herald news, editorial pages claimed Foley emails were "ambiguous" and "innocuous" but didn't note most suggestive content posted at Media Matters we have more about the story invovling a political leader, Foley.

In LETTER TO MY ABUSER(S)posted at Holly's Fight to Stop Violence Holly is working on a collection of letters by other survivors to the men/women who abused them. She I asking men and women from all walks of life, to contribute their own letters to a book entitled, Letters to My Abusers.

Gender
In When Rape Isn't in Black and White posted at New Black Man we hear a perspective on how violence isn't a one race issues.

In Male Terroism or "tunnel vision" posted at Sinister Girl we hear an opinion about the latest school shootings and how the media is not focusing on the issue at hand. (Please note this post does have some graphic language)

Politics
In Foley drops out of re-elect campaign posted at Pandagon, we read about a congressman who was breaking the law with minors.

Raising Awareness
In When all else fails, blame the victim posted at The Dees Diversion there is a short post about the recent story invovling victim blaming.

In The war of terror against women posted at A Speakout on Male Sexual Violence there is another perpective on the violence against women.

In Child Sexual Abuse posted at Broken Bodies - Broken Dreams the epidemic of child sexual abuse is addressed.
