Is it really Thursday?

Does time seem to be going at warp speed lately? Have I really been writing October on everything? Where is the time going? I haven't a clue...yet! Time has been very apparent to me; in almost everything I do. I've complained on several occassions that, "I just don't have enough time". My lists (plural because there's more than one) are much longer than the time to get it all done in a day, week or month for that matter. It doesn't help that recently I've been obsessive about a few things. Reconnecting with friends, staying connected with friends...it could really be a full time job. It's part of the way I'm wired that I find value in staying touch with friends, regardless of moving, job changes or life circumstances. Just today, an old friend called out of the blue to say she was thinking of me. Earlier this week I dropped a note to a friend online, just to catch up, that conversation led to some networking opportunities for us both. I'm hard to get rid of like it or not.
Does anyone else feel this way about time though? I CAN'T be the only one! Partly the reason I feel a little more scattered recently is because I have 2 calendars, an outline with my goals, and sprial full of different lists and a file folder of various things. This weekend I am going to combine it all thanks for some great FREE resources from Franklin Covey. I was able to find a 1/2 inch binder at work today and some dividers to help organize my life. At my previous job Outlook was my right hand (wo)man, however, where I'm working at now doesn't support Outlook but yet another program that I just haven't clicked with. I'm hoping with this new system and tracking where my time is going I'll be able to maximize the time I do have!

I thought my time was in control many years ago. Then I attended a Franklin Covey class. Wow!, They say, "you don't know what you don't know". That is for sure. That class changed my whole look at the way I was doing things. Well worth the money. Time is money and now I have more time because of the money I spent on the class. What a deal.

Mr Rhodes - that class sounds like something I would have enjoyed! I am really enjoying my new calendar system and have been able to see where my "time" is going!

redpiper, the first thing to know is that all work expands to occupy all of the time allocated for it. Your in-box will never be empty! The only thing to change is the way you respond to your in box and what you put in it in the first place.

You seem like a good person so be nice to yourself. Improve yourself in space that you create for yourself. Stop trying to calculate where your time is going. This is like getting a salmon to stop swimming upstream in order to take time out to calculate the rate of flow of the river and the energy required to overcome it.

Get on with it girl. Life is way, way too short as it is.

Good luck,

Pete, England
